Anilox Roll Function
The anilox roll is an engraved ceramic cylinder with millions of micro-cells that meter precise ink volume to the flexo plate. Cell volume (BCM — billion cubic microns/sq inch) and line screen (LPI) are the two critical specifications.

Maintenance
Without cleaning, cell volume drops 10–15%/year causing 10–15 ΔE color shift. Three cleaning methods: (1) Chemical soak – daily maintenance; (2) Brush cleaning – integrated in-press systems; (3) Ultrasonic – most effective, restores 95% of original volume. LISHG recommends weekly ultrasonic cleaning and 6-month profilometer measurement to track volume trends.
